It is my profound honour to extend a formal welcome to all esteemed attendees of this National Pathology Conference. This annual event is a vital opportunity for knowledge dissemination and advancement, uniting the nation's most respected pathologists, leading researchers, and emerging professionals. I must acknowledge the significant commitment and efforts of the Organizing Committee of NPC 2026. The success of this event is directly attributable to their planning and professionalism over the preceding months. We commend every member who has contributed their expertise and time to ensure the continuous success of this conference as the premier event in our professional calendar.

The central theme this year, "Pathology Without Borders: Bridging Communities, Technologies, and Futures," clearly conveys the global and future-focused mandate of our discipline. This theme emphasizes our focus on the future and global impact of our field. It highlights our goal to break down traditional boundaries, ensuring everyone has fair access to diagnosis, adopting the newest technologies and genomic science, and protecting our profession's future through solid training and collaborations.

I strongly encourage everyone to participate in the sessions, engage in professional discussions, and establish meaningful connections here. The knowledge and insights you gain at this conference are the key building blocks for making pathology accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Forewords by the NPC 2026 Organizing Chairperson

Dr Lim Say Min

It is my great honour to welcome all delegates to the National Pathology Conference 2026, held for the very first time in the vibrant city of Kuching, Sarawak. This marks a significant milestone as our annual national conference reaches East Malaysia, where Sarawak’s unique heritage, warmth, and cultural richness set an inspiring backdrop to our theme, β€œPathology Without Borders: Bridging Communities, Technologies, and Futures.”

This conference would not have been possible without the dedication of our organising committee and its many subcommittees. Their collective effort, professionalism, and unwavering commitment have shaped every aspect of this event, and I extend my deepest appreciation to each member.

We also acknowledge the various supporting partners who have contributed in appropriate and transparent ways to ensure the smooth running of this conference.

To our colleagues travelling from Peninsular Malaysia and abroad, thank you for making the journey. We hope you enjoy Sarawak’s hospitality, traditions, and the welcoming spirit that make this land truly special.

Welcome to Kuching, and welcome to NPC 2026.

Dr Lim Say Min
Chemical Pathologist, and Organizing Chairperson of NPC 2026
